Available Position: ISS Direct Support Professional
Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5 pm (typical)
Shift may vary pending needs (Hours of operations 8a to 5 pm)
ISS DSP SERVICES INCLUDE:
– Assisting the individual in acquiring, retaining, and improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in the community;
– Providing the individual with age-appropriate activities that enhance self-esteem and maximize functional level;
– Training and support activities that promote the individual’s integration and participation in the community.
– Assisting the individual with personal care needs during day habilitation activities
– Providing transportation during day habilitation activities as necessary for the individual’s participation in day habilitation activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
– Documentation: Day Habilitation Service Delivery Logs, Progress Notes Monitoring Sheets, Behavior Data Collection Sheets, Medication Administration Records, and Habilitation Training Sheets.
– Adherence to Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen Standards.
– Follow Safety Guidelines.
– Participation in staff meetings and service training.
– Perform Emergency Evacuation Drills.
– Respond to emergency needs of individuals including performing CPR, First Aid, and performing agency-approved Behavior Intervention Techniques as necessary.
– Ensures Functional Independence Skills (FISH) Assessments are completed, documented, and submitted/filed as necessary.
– Providing training on the individual program objectives.
– Providing transportation during day habilitation activities as necessary for the individual’s participation in day habilitation activities.
– Completes all other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS SKILLS/ABILITIES:
– Supervisory Experience
– Ability to articulate clearly.
– Must be able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English.
– Must be reliable in attendance and timeliness to work schedules.
– Hearing and vision correctable to normal ranges.
– Organizational skills.
– Ability to use body mechanics in controlling unpredictable behavior.
– Ability to participate in physical activities.
